You may remember Lil Jon as the poster boy of the crunk movement in the early 2000’s. Songs like Bia Bia and Put Yo Hood Up went hard wherever you played them, but they were definitely multiple genres away from EDM. You may be interested in how his music has progressed though. His works with Pitbull & LMFAO definitely provided insight on where the direction of his music was going. After working on much more Pop and EDM related tracks he has gone hard with DJ Snake on Turn Down For What. The bridge which Trap music has recently provided to Hip Hop and EDM is definitely an asset to Lil Jon and it shows. Turn Down For What stays true to Lil Jon’s artist style, but also is a huge break for him in the EDM world. After the huge success of Turn Down For What, I don’t think we should be surprised to see a few more major Electronic influenced tracks with Lil Jon’s voice and energy on. There have been many tracks in between the release of Snap Yo Fingers and Turn Down For What which provide great insight on the development of his musical ability. Lil Jon is hands down a multi-genre master and has the potential to be the biggest voice in EDM before 2015.
