Firefly Music Festival
Each year, from June 18th to the 21st, Firefly Music Festival draws in a crowd to from far and near. Since this festivals original debut in the summer of 2012, it has done something amazing that trumps most other summer events. By combining genres such as indie, EDM, rap and rock, Firefly has been able to create a unique opportunity for people to enjoy and appreciate different types of music and the cultures that follow each, all in one incredible location.
This event is held annually in The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Delaware. For its fourth year, Firefly 2015 will be a amazing time felt by all. This can be guaranteed because on February 17, the line up was announced! Kings of Leon, The Killers, Snoop Dogg, Zedd, Kid Cudi, Steve Aoki, Mother Mother and dozens more will be killing it on stage (as usual) this year. Although the main headliner has been kept a secret for the time being, many rumours have been floating around that Sir Paul McCartney will be joining the already mind benignly awesome lineup and will blow fans away that have come from across the world. Not only does Firefly provide festival goers with one of the best line ups that I have ever seen premiering on four stages, they have other activities going on that include; a state of the art arcade tent, a Toms Shoe tent where people can design their own Toms and have them painted by artists, photo booth tents and The Thicket.
The Thicket is when fans have the chance to truly immerse themselves in a true “secret woods rave” by placing headphones on that are controlled by the DJ on the main stage. This allows people to party their asses off while the headphones are on, and then turn them off to find themselves in a forest full of others dancing in silence. With support from Delaware’s Dogfish Head Brewer, Firefly is able to quench the thirst of any, regardless the temperature with their signature onsite beer that was created for this festival. And finally, for those who can’t hold it down all day, every day at one of the four stages, there are cooling and charging stations, merchandise tents as well as a seemingly endless ocean of people that are all ready to make life long memories. To all that are reading this and are opening a new window to buy tickets, have a kick ass time for me !
